The Kingdom of Judah (Solomon to Second Temple)
What begins as the Kingdom of Israel quickly divides into two kingdoms after Solomon’s death: the Kingdom of Judah (southern kingdom) and the Kingdom of Israel (northern kingdom). This chart is given the title of the southern kingdom because Judah continued the royal house of David, with whom God had made the covenant. Ages of David’s heirs are given in the Hebrew Bible, so an accurate genealogy has been established. "The Kingdom of Judah," chart also depicts the chronology of the northern kingdom of Israel and its kings. All of the prophets having books of the Bible that bear their name (except Samuel) prophesy during this period. Some of these prophets prophesy to both kingdoms; thus, this chart is a great help in understanding the messages of the prophets.
