2010 Issues of Online Magazine Articles
June 2010, Issue #001
This is the first installment of our Online Monthly Magazine. We have decided to choose a topic and commandment for discussion each month. If we are busy with a project we may not have time to compose a new issue, but there will be an effort not to miss one. The monthly topic and commandment will almost never be exhausted; however, the remaining subjects may change from issue to issue. We will also make an effort to teach some basics of the Hebrew language.
In this issue the generations of Cain and the commandment against murder will be discussed. Why are only seven generations of Cain’s descendants given in Genesis with no age or birth dates? Also, what does the commandment against murder really deal with? Some translations render the commandment as kill and others as murder. Read about these subjects and more in this issue of our Online Monthly Magazine. Thank you for your interest in the Hebrew Heritage Learning Center.

July 2010, Issue #002
In this issue, we deal with whether Cain married his sister and the commandment prohibiting sibling marriage. There is also a detail on Abel’s life, another lesson in Hebrew, and a short discussion on The Book of Jasher as it relates to biblical chronology.
If Cain and his brothers married their sisters, why does God prohibit the Israelites from practicing sibling marriages later? What is the significance of the life of Abel, though he apparently had no descendants? How reliable is The Book of Jasher, and how does it help to establish biblical chronology?

August 2010, Issue #003
In this month’s issue, the genealogical records of the Bible are considered. In conjunction, also, there is a small discussion on the commandment of multiplying and filling the earth (the first commandment given in the Bible) and a small biography on the life of Seth, the first person exemplifying this commandment.
Additionally, the Hebrew lesson will continue from the previous issue to the vowel pointing system that the Masoretes developed for the preservation of pronunciation in Hebrew Bibles. As concerning our present work on chronology, there is an explanation of our other source: the Seder Olam Rabbah (besides the Hebrew Bible and The Book of Jasher).

September 2010, Issue #004
Have you ever pondered on the curse that God made over the ground because of Adam’s transgression? Why was the ground cursed? Also, if that curse is still with us, why is the ground cursed again for Cain? And why is Noah said to be the one to bring rest from the toil the curse demanded?
In addition to discussing this topic, the commandment prohibiting the profanation of the Creator’s name will be outlined, and in connection with this a small biography of the patriarch Enosh, the grandson of Adam, will be given. During his days the human race began to profane God’s name.

October 2010, Issue #005
Because of time constraints, I have not been able to produce articles for every topic that has been regularly covered. However, I managed to pull together the monthly topic and the patriarch biography, which are somewhat central to the progression of these online magazine issues.
In this issue, therefore, it was decided that an overview of the early period of the biblical tradition be detailed so as to inform readers of the intention of these continuing online issues. Thus, there is only a small discussion concerning the Antediluvian World (pre-flood age) and the little-known character Cainan (or more accurately transliterated as Qenan), who was the great grandson of Adam, and according to tradition was a man of great importance before the flood.

November 2010, Issue #006
In this issue the relationship between the remaining patriarchs in Genesis 5 and the eventual decline of the earth into wickedness will be examined. Last time Cainan (Qenan), the great grandson of Adam, was shown to have been a wise and influential man. Now his son, Mahalalel, will be discussed.

December 2010, Issue #007
In this month’s issue we will be discussing the widely popular subject of the “giants” or Nephilim. Who were the sons of God that took the daughters of men as wives? Were they supernatural angelic beings, flesh and blood aliens, or mere humans? And what significance does it have in the biblical account?
Also, the patriarch Jared (Yared) will be briefly covered, and this time we will continue with the Hebrew lessons by introducing the basic one-letter prefixes.
